Active asset management

Active asset management refers to an investment approach in which a fund / asset manager makes active investment decisions. Various analysis techniques are used and market expectations are incorporated in order to try to achieve an above-average return compared to the market (alpha). Active asset management is often accompanied by substantial management costs.
