A fund is a collective investment vehicle managed by a fund manager. Investors can invest in the fund by buying fund units. Investment funds give investors access to diversified portfolios and professional fund management. The financial market law basis for collective investments in Switzerland with FINMA as the supervisory authority is formed by the Collective Investment Schemes Act (CISA), the Financial Institutions Act (FinIA) and the following ordinances: Collective Investment Schemes Ordinance (FINMA), Bankruptcy Ordinance -FINMA and the Financial Institutions Ordinance (FinIO).
