Hedge funds

Hedge funds are investment funds that pursue alternative investment strategies. They use a variety of financial instruments and techniques to generate returns independent of general market conditions. Hedge funds can take both long and short positions (short selling), use leverage (credit-financed investments), and invest in different asset classes.
