When VIAC was founded, one thing was clear to us: the third pillar is too complicated. Our goal was to develop a simple and, above all, digital solution without snail mail and piles of paper. To this day, we’ve stayed true to that principle: VIAC is largely paperless. But that’s not enough for us and that’s why we donate a tree for every customer. 🌳😁
We’re constantly on the lookout for exciting projects we can support. So far, we’ve donated to three organizations: Plant-for-the-Planet, Eden: People+Planet, and One Tree Planted. And we strictly keep our promise: 1 customer = 1 tree. In the future, we could also imagine supporting other initiatives like JustDiggIt. JustDiggIt digs so-called “bunds” (earth mounds) to capture rainwater that would otherwise be lost, helping vegetation in these areas to regenerate. However, that would make sticking to the “1 customer = 1 tree” claim a bit tricky.
Plant-for-the-Planet was founded in 2007 by then 9-year-old Felix Finkbeiner in Germany. Since then, the organization has planted over 30 million trees together with its partners. The goal is not only to restore forest ecosystems and biodiversity, but also to raise awareness about climate change. Young people play a key role in this mission for example, by partaking in the Global Youth Summit.
Trees are planted on the foundation’s own land, including in Mexico, Ghana, and Spain. These sites also serve as research grounds, with findings shared globally.
VIAC has donated a total of 30,000 trees to Plant-for-the-Planet. The trees were primarily planted on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.

Eden’s mission is to restore devastated landscapes in developing countries. The organization works closely with local communities, often living in poverty due to deforestation. Eden provides education and tools to plant, care for, and protect millions of trees each year until they reach maturity. This not only protects the environment but also improves the livelihoods of people. As of 2020, Eden has already planted 423 million trees.
VIAC has donated 69’981 trees through Eden’s General Planting Fund. This fund is designed to support areas with the greatest need at the time of the donation, which is why the donation enabled the planting of trees in one or more countries where Eden plants trees.

By 2024, One Tree Planted has planted over 135 million trees. The organization works with nearly 400 partners in 82 countries to reforest degraded landscapes. The goal: to promote biodiversity, combat climate change, and support local communities.
VIAC has donated 25’000 trees to One Tree Planted, which are planted exactly where they are most urgently needed at the time of the donation.
